Digital Peel is a series that transforms the digital collage images of Algorithm Diary into polyhedral structures made of fabric, slowing down the way digital images are consumed. While digital collages exist on a single flat surface and can be read relatively quickly with the naked eye, this work demands more time. The weight, dimensionality, and texture of fabric invite multi-angled readings, making image recognition a slower process.This installation reconfigures fast-scrolling digital images into forms that require prolonged engagement. Without a rigid frame, the fabric structures can be folded, crumpled, or reshaped into any form, embodying the flexible and unfixed qualities of the material. Through the materialization of digital images, what was once fleeting and lightly consumed on a screen is reconstructed into a tangible surface with smooth seams created by hand-stitching pieces of fabric together.
