I symbolically depict the places that have been my historical "homes," having been born in Korea and grown up in various cities in the Czech Republic, Thailand, and the UK, through digital collages. As each place has been a "home," I have cherished and longed for them, but simultaneously, it is impossible to reside in multiple places, so I reminisce about each place through photos and videos found online. As someone whose hometown is scattered across multiple locations, my utopia would be a place where all the places I have lived coexist, but such a place cannot exist in reality. Therefore, I have made it happen within the online space, by compiling fragments of images from each place into a single screen, creating a unified space. Just as ancient scholars painted their ideal places as landscape paintings to hang in their rooms, I have created landscape paintings that reflect my own ideals. This goes beyond the story of my personal life to represent the lives of modern individuals who constantly migrate between countries, cities, and nations today.

The era where the physical environment has relatively less impact on individuals' choices has arrived. There is a decreasing trend in the importance of the places where individuals reside or stay. Moreover, in today's society, where remote and online interactions have deepened after the pandemic, such phenomena are accelerating even more. In this era, we ponder how we can accommodate the diversity of society moving forward. These are stories that aim to address the correct understanding of the personalized information environment in modern society, along with contemplating how we should understand and perceive others. The series "Personal Utopias" visualizes the utopias of the contemporary era, in other words, landscape paintings reflecting the current times. It is a collage of landscape paintings based on images collected through Google searches of places most similar to the utopias envisioned by seven individuals of diverse ages, genders, and nationalities. Representing a customized utopia constructed through information arranged by personalized systems based on algorithms storing each individual's activity patterns. It unveils the appearance of online algorithm systems like Google, which expose information tailored to users' individual preferences, reflecting our diverse ideals and values influenced by such individual online environments.
