How I think of Japan (2017)

\ Mixed Media installation

Hyunha loved Japanese Animations and Mangas. She naturally learnt Japanese culture and language as a result of spending a lot of time watching and reading them. However, it did not meant that she loved everything of Japan.  Historical, political viewpoints as a Korean gave her discomfort.

Here, she used two projectors screening the walls of each other, video clips of her two perspectives of how she sees Japan; what she loves about it, and what she does not. In the middle is the red sun symbolizing Japanese flag, which bothers two screens from showing, creating a round shadow.
